What was life like in the past? Take a peek inside Skansen’s buildings and farmsteads, and explore living conditions in the countryside and in the city, for rich and poor, in the north and in the south.

Join one of our gardeners on a walk through Skansen’s gardens! Together, we’ll discover Swedish gardening history from the late 18th century and forward.

Come on a hike to see some of our largest predators, such as bears, wolverines and lynxes. You will learn more about their behaviour in the wild and their life at the animal park.

Experience a unique morning with the animals before the park opens to other visitors. Help with the animals’ morning routines, and get an insight into how Skansen works with animal welfare and conservation.

Have you booked a conference, a dinner or a party? Get even more out of Skansen! One of our  zookeepers will come by, giving you a well-deserved and memorable break.

Step into the magical world of glass. Skansen’s glassblowers will show you how the millennia-old craft is done. You can then try it yourself!

The Skansen Challenge is a team competition consisting of questions, puzzles and tasks to solve. Challenge each other and build new forms of cooperation – right in the heart of Stockholm.

In the bookprinter’s workshop, real printers work in period costume. These are some of the few professionals who still practise the craft.

The Pharmacy is home to Sweden’s oldest preserved pharmacy interior, and actual pharmacists dressed in late 18th century fashions work here.
