Skansen is a patchwork of centuries and folk history, but the thread that holds us together is rarely mentioned. Skansen was founded in 1891 by an incredibly enterprising man named Artur Hazelius. By his side he had his faithful and equally enterprising right hand lady; Sigrid Millrath. Together they created much of the Skansen we see today. Skansen was the first of its kind in creating a collection of buildings and historical artefacts of a whole nation in one single park. The creation was never easy, but Artur and Sigrid toiled persistently and created history.
Riddles, puzzles and code solving
The game that we chose to call the Skansen Adventure is an Escape Room-like game where participants find their way around Skansen and collect codes and passwords to finally solve a puzzle. The game takes between 60 and 90 minutes and is suitable for a wide range of participants, from adults to children. The game includes elements such as riddles, puzzles and code solving as well as finding marks and markings in the area. It’s a fun opportunity for team building and getting to know one’s strengths. It is important to know that the game involves moving around most of Skansen, so both comfortable shoes, weather appropriate clothing and a water bottle are recommended during the game.
“know thyself”
Artur Hazelius was famous for the motto “know thyself” and this game connects to this in many ways – both through the historical context and by exploring one’s strengths in group and problem solving. We are so pleased to be able to offer this activity to our business customers.
The price is SEK 490 per person, and we recommend 5-7 participants per team. Book in via event@skansen.se. Note that there is never bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.
