Midwife on her way

She is on her way to the next expecting mother. On the back of her bike she has the bag with all the equipment a midwife need to deliver babies safe and sound.

  • The midwife is called to the young farm labourers wife who is in labour, and next she will continue to the town quarter where the ironmonger´s wife need her help.

    The midwife is part of a project illustrating how the midwife became an important part of the modern society emerging in the 1920’s and 1930’s.

    The project is made possible thanks to Svenska Barnmorskeförbundet and Vårdförbundet.
