Norwegian National Day

Celebrate the Norweigan national day, Nasjonaldagen, at Skansen with people in national costume, music, speaches and a lot of fun.

  • Highlights of the day

    Parade Procession: The festive parade departs at 14.00 from Raoul Wallenberg’s Square (Nybroplan), proceeds along Strandvägen, and arrives at Skansen (Solliden Stage).

    Solliden Stage: Musical performances and traditional acts on stage, interspersed with speakers and a ceremonial address, starting around 16.00.

    Seglora Church: Church service approximately between 17.30 and 18.30.

  • The Norwegian national day, referred to as Nasjonaldagen or syttende mai (seventeenth of May) in Norway, is a public holiday that takes place on the 17th of May every year. The day is celebrated in great style not only in Norway but also in Stockholm where people gather and march through the city center to Skansen. At Skansen the Norweigan national day is celebrated with music, performances and speaches at the Solliden stage and activities for kids and adults.
