Tjolahopp tjolahej – 80 years with Pippi Longstocking

During May 10–11 and September 20–21, 2025, Skansen will be bursting with joy and celebration! You're invited to two fun-filled days of music, theatre, tasty treats, and exciting activities as we celebrate the 80th birthday of Pippi Longstocking – the strongest girl in the world.

  • In collaboration with Astrid Lindgren Company

  • Solliden stage, 10.40, 12.00 and 15.00
The show is in Swedish and is approx. 30 minutes. Open seating. Stroller parking is available outside the stage area.

  • Here you’ll find Pippi’s big pancake party – and you can also test your strength against Mighty Adolf at the power meter!

Browse the market stalls for sweet little treasures, from toys and accessories to classic candy. Look for the yellow flags by the dance floor, where there are places to sit and eat – perfect whether you’ve brought a picnic or are buying food on site.

  • Dive into the haystack or try games from your great-grandparents’ childhood. Roll a hoop, walk on stilts, hop in a sack, and explore other classic games from days gone by.

You’ll also find Emil of Lönneberga’s wood shed here, where you can try your hand at wood carving. If you’re under 7, don’t worry – you get to sandpaper instead!

  • Balance on the roof ridge

Balance on the rooftop ridge just like Mardie or challenge a friend on the “don’t-touch-the-ground” obstacle course!

Then borrow a Lilla Gubben (“Little Old Man”) hobby horse and jump as high as you can over the hurdles in Pippi’s hobby horse course.

  • Sausage grilling

The grills are hot and ready by the Orsa hill! Bring your own sausages to grill or buy some at the Bollnäs Square.

  • Skansen’s strolling musicians

Pause for a moment, enjoy the music, and sing along as Skansen’s strolling musicians fill the park with beloved tunes and classic songs.

  • Galejan fairground

Hop on the vintage rides or try your luck at the raffles and the traditional fish pond game.

  • Houses and farmsteads

Many of Astrid Lindgren’s stories take place in the past. What was it like to be a child in Emil’s, Madicken’s, or the Noisy Village children’s time? Step inside Skansen’s many historic houses and farmsteads to find out
