Get married at Skansen – we have everything you need for your special day! You can book your wedding with us year-round in one of our beautiful settings, with the option of either a church or civil ceremony. For those who prefer a simpler celebration, our annual drop-in wedding day offers a romantic and effortless way to tie the knot on a love-filled summer day.

  • Church wedding in Seglora Church

    Are you looking for a historic setting for your wedding? Built in 1729, Seglora Church is one of Stockholm’s most famous churches and has been a part of Skansen for over 100 years. For just as long, couples have exchanged vows here! The church’s intimate yet historic atmosphere becomes even more magical when beautifully decorated for a wedding. With its picturesque surroundings and historic charm, it’s a truly special place to celebrate love.

    Capacity: Up to 250 guests

    Price: 22.000 SEK. The price includes venue rental, Skansen admission for your guests (regular price 285 SEK per adult during high season), an organist, and two hosts.

    Availability: Available on weekends without scheduled programs at 13.30, 15.00 and 16.30, year-round. Contact us for inquiries about other days and times.

    Acessibility: Seglora Church has a fixed wheelchair ramp and a private restroom.

    Officiant: You are responsible for booking your officiating priest and informing us of your choice. We recommend reaching out to your home parish first.

  • Oscar Terrace

    Price: 15.000 SEK

    Capacity: Up to 150 guests

    The Oscar Terrace is our most versatile wedding venue, offering a spectacular view of Djurgården and the Nordic Museum! Make a grand entrance by descending the staircase from Sagaliden or take a scenic walk through the Rose garden to reach your ceremony spot. Personalize the space with your own decorations or embrace its natural charm as it is.

    This venue is available for booking at any time of day from May to September and accommodates up to 150 standing guests. Chairs, tables, and electricity can be arranged at an additional cost.

  • Swedenborg’s Pavilion

    Price: 8.500 SEK

    Capacity: Up to 80 guests (outdoor), up to 5 guests (indoor)

    Swedenborg’s Pavilion is a charming and intimate setting, surrounded by the stunning Rosengården and offering breathtaking views over Stockholm.

    This venue is available for booking on program-free days year-round and is at its most beautiful between May and September. The roses in the garden bloom primarily in the two weeks before and after Midsummer, creating a romantic backdrop for your ceremony. From October to April, access to the delicate indoor space is restricted, but ceremonies can still take place in front of the pavilion. The outdoor space accommodates up to 80 guests, while the indoor space is suitable for a maximum of 5 people.

  • Djurgården Pavilion

    The Djurgården Pavilion is the perfect venue for couples seeking an intimate ceremony in a secluded location with beautiful views over Skansen and Djurgården. It is primarily an outdoor setting, offering both privacy and a picturesque backdrop.

    This venue is available for booking at any time of day, year-round. The outdoor space accommodates up to 30 guests, while the indoor area is suitable for a maximum of 10 people. The pavilion is wheelchair accessible and conveniently located near Skansen’s main entrance.

    Capacity: Up to 30 guests

    Skogaholm Pavilion offers an intimate setting for a small outdoor wedding. Nestled in the lush kitchen garden of Skogaholm Manor, couples exchange vows beneath the apple trees, surrounded by greenery. Nearby, two picturesque leafy walkways provide the perfect backdrop for stunning wedding photos.

    This venue is available for booking at any time of day, year-round. It can accommodate between 10 and 30 guests, depending on how closely you wish to gather. The indoor space is delicate and limited in size, so ceremonies take place just outside the pavilion. Conveniently located near Solliden’s parking area.

    This charming yellow house with red trim has a rich history—it was built in 1895 by the temperance society Brofästet within IOGT. Ordenshuset is a perfect venue for couples who want an indoor ceremony with up to 180 guests. Exchange vows in front of the beautiful backdrop painting and create unforgettable memories in this historic space.

FAQ

  • Before and during your wedding day – church ceremony

    • Your booking includes a 30-minute viewing of the wedding venue for two people.
    • The ceremony venue is available for 1 hour on your booked day.
    • The couple has access to the venue for preparations 30 minutes before the ceremony.
    • Hymn books are available at the venue, but we recommend including hymn numbers or full lyrics in your program.

    Decorations 
    All Skansen wedding venues are part of the museum and must be handled with care. All decoration plans must be approved in advance.

    No decorations may be taped, stapled, or attached to the venue in any way. Only light-colored flower petals may be scattered in the aisle.

    Flowers & Lighting
    Your booking includes a beautiful altar bouquet and two floral arrangements in the church’s chancel window. During winter, only an altar bouquet is provided. You are welcome to add additional floral decorations if desired. The church is illuminated with candlelight for a warm and atmospheric setting.

    Music
    The organist will assist you with entrance and exit music, hymns, and accompanying any soloists, provided that sheet music is submitted to the organist in time. If you request songs for which the organist does not have sheet music, you will need to provide these yourself.

    You will be provided with the oranists contact information approximately four weeks before your ceremony. Together with your priest and the organist, you will agree on the music you would like to play during the ceremony. Seglora Church has an organ and an electric piano.

    Certificate of No Impediment
    You need to bring valid photo identification and a valid, approved Certificate of No Impediment (hindersprövning). This consists of two documents: the Certificate of No Impediment (hindersprövningsintyg) and the Marriage Certificate (vigselintyg).

    All wedding venues at Skansen are part of the museum and are therefore delicate environments. All decoration plans must be approved in advance. Decorations must not be taped, stapled, or attached in any way to the venue’s structures.

    Wedding guests’ admission to Skansen is included in the booking. Guests should bring their wedding invitation, as it serves as their entry ticket to Skansen. If a physical invitation is unavailable, guests should provide the couple’s name, venue, and ceremony time at the entrance.

  • What can you throw at the newlyweds after the ceremony?

    Guests are welcome to throw flower petals and blow bubbles to celebrate the newlyweds. For the safety of the animals and environmental reasons, rice, confetti, and seeds are not permitted.

  • Parking & Transportation

    Wedding couples and guests arriving by car or taxi may drive up to the bus turnaround at Solliden. From there, it is approximately a 200-meter walk to Seglora Church.

    Skansen has very limited parking availability and can reserve one (1) parking space within the area. All parking at Skansen is subject to a fee.

    Additional parking is available outside Skansen. The most convenient way to arrive is by taxi or public transportation to the Skansen bus and tram stop, or to Allmänna Gränd if arriving by boat.

    Vehicle Access Permit
    On Saturdays and Sundays from May to September, as well as throughout December, a vehicle access permit is required to drive on Djurgården. With your booking at Skansen, you may register up to five (5) private cars for entry. Please email the license plate numbers no later than 12.00 on the Thursday of the same week to vigsel.dop@skansen.se.

    Important: These permits do not include parking—they only grant access past the barrier at the Nordic Museum. Taxis, buses, and trams always have permission to pass.

  • Cancellation & Rescheduling

    Cancellations or changes to your booking must be made via email to bokning@skansen.se at least two months before the scheduled date.

    If canceled less than two months before the booked date, the full cost will be charged.
