Let's dance with Dansmuseet: West African dance

Let your body move to the music when Dansmuseet, the Museum of Dance, visits Skansen! Come to the Bollnäs Square dance floor to learn about and try West African dance together with dance teacher Klara Berggren and musician Seydouba Keita.

  • Between May and September 2025, Dansmuseet will be coming to Skansen, inviting you to try out different dance styles under the guidance of experienced teachers. Each occasion offers dance opportunities for the youngest members of the family as well as for adults who would like to dance.

    Each session takes place on the Bollnäs Square dance floor and lasts about 30 minutes. No prior experience is needed – just curiosity and a love of dancing!

  • Children's dance, 12.00 och 13.00

    With imaginative and fun movements we dance to drum rhythms from West Africa. Lots of dancing fun is promised! The dance is accompanied by musicians from West Africa. Från 4 år och uppåt.

  • Dance for everybody, 15.00

    A fun and inspiring try-out class in traditional dance from West Africa. The workshop begins with an introduction to dance in Africa. The dance is accompanied by musicians from West Africa.

  • About Dansmuseet

    Dansmuseet is a world-class museum for dance and movement, founded in Stockholm by Rolf de Maré in 1953. The museum’s activities include exhibitions, performances, music experiences and workshops.

    In January 2025, Dansmuseet closed due to financial difficulties. The museum is currently working to open in a new location in 2027/2028. In the meantime, Dansmuseet offers dance experiences in other ways in 2025 Skansen is among them.
