Midsummer at Skansen

Discover Stockholm’s greatest Midsummer celebrations! At Skansen, Midsummer lasts for three days between 23 and 25 June, with activities from the morning and well into the bright summer night.

    Children can get help tying up their birch leaf wreaths. Price: SEK 30 per wreath.

    Experience the festive raising of the decorated maypole!

    Dancing and games
    Dancing and games for everyone around the maypole, together with Skansen’s folk dance group and Skansen’s folk musicians. The games will be led by Kerstin Kantzy. The programme will be presented in Swedish and English.

    Be charmed and moved by the vocal trio Vanja Modigh, with a programme featuring Nordic folk songs, Georgian polyphony and American old time tunes (35 minutes)

    Swinging folk music to dance to, and a trio with its own unique sound. Lovis Jacobsson on the cittern, Albin Myrin on the clarinet and Erland Westerström on the harmonica.
