Galejan is hosted by Mälarmodulmöte, an association for model railways in modules that constructs a 400-square-meter model train depicting a summer day in Sweden in 1971. Step inside a 1:87-scale miniature world filled with nostalgia, innovative technology, and exquisite details.
Torbjörn Holmberg is displaying the amazing “Östermo Station”, a narrow-gauge model railway in 1:45 scale, in addition to the large model railway. Even smaller is Gustav Lundström’s fascinating model railway in 1:160 scale, which is also on site. Moreover, don’t miss the opportunity to see Anders Runnholm’s fantastic diorama “Firma Schroth & Kohrn” in 1:35 scale. The diorama depicts a precise and authentic industrial area with a narrow-gauge railway in Sweden in the 1960s. It becomes tiny with Hasse Åhlén’s model railway “Nördingebanan” in scale 1:220, an entire little world on half a square meter.
Hobbypress publisher is on-site, offering activities for children such as creating models and figure painting. Trafik-Nostalgiska publisher is selling books on historical themes such as trains, trams, buses, and cities. The Stockholm Model Railway Club and the Model Railway Association Smalspårsfrämjandet are also present on site.
Outside Galejan’s dance floor, Stockholm Live Steamers is also on site, who operate real working steam trains on their track in a 1:22.5 scale.
